Can a Marriage and Family Therapist do individual therapy?
Many people wonder if a marriage and family therapist is able to help with
individual problems. The answer is a resounding, "Yes!". Although marriage
and family therapists (MFTs) have specialized training to work with families
and couples, this does not mean that an MFT has any less training to work
with an individual. In fact, MFTs have just as much, if not more, clinical training
than other disciplines.
So, although we call ourselves Marriage and Family Therapists, don't let the name fool you!
We're here to help.
